Background

ACKO, founded in 2016, is India’s first completely digital insurer. They’re on a mission to make buying insurance as simple as shopping online—no agents, no paperwork, just seamless digital experiences. When ACKO approached us, they wanted help growing their app audience and getting real customers to buy insurance through their app. With a big challenge ahead and only 45 days to deliver, we knew we had to get creative.

Goal

• Grow the App Audience: Reach more users by increasing app installs.
• Drive Real Conversions: Get users to buy insurance through the app.

Our Approach

To make our ads effective, we first defined ACKO’s ideal customers:
  • • People who own bikes or cars but wanted quick, affordable insurance.
  • • New Generation / Younger | who value convenience over lengthy paperwork
  • • We split this audience into two groups—bike owners and car owners—to deliver ads tailored to their specific needs.

We tested multiple ad formats and messages for both groups separately (bike and car owners) to see what clicked:
  • • For Bike Owners: Ads focused on affordability and fast policy approvals
  • • For Car Owners: Ads highlighted trust, extensive coverage, and hassle-free claims.

To maximize reach and efficiency, we experimented with multiple ad inventories across:
  • • Affiliate Networks: Partnered with trusted affiliates to tap into a broader audience.
  • • OEM Apps: Leveraged placements on OEM platforms to engage users directly through their devices
  • • Direct Apps: Collaborated with app publishers for optimised targeting and better engagement.
  • • DSPs (Demand-Side Platforms): Used programmatic advertising to target users based on specific behaviors and interests, ensuring refined targeting.
